Good morning everybody, it's 4am in Germany and my day hasn't even ended, but I'm in the mood to write about my glorious day at Venice!

I stood up and went down to the kitchen
preparing some sweet (megasweet) american pancakes with jelly and maple sirup. What a breakfast, I hope such things will bring me a little "Ranze" in the 6 months:-)

After breakfast I went down to the beach, checkin the waves for my first surfin atempts which should follow just a few hours later. I walked around in my neighbourhood, trying to find a big supermarket which is a bit cheaper than my mexican-bastards-one right now, but I didn't find anything except houndrets of surf, dope and trash stores.

2pm: Time to hit the water on a surfboard!!! I caught Paul (the guy from "Schwobaland") and went with him to the surfboard-rental. 10$ for an hour, and as you see you get a complete clean and not over-waxed one for that;-) But again I'd ask Georg back home: "Who cares?". So we went down to the water, took our wetsuits (my one could probably be more than 700 years old, but the colors are still up-to-date:-) and joined about 20 other surfers at a spot, not bigger than 30 meters. So as you might already have recognized, 20 on 30m, yes, it feels a bit like war, but you've always got enough space if you're a fox like me(or Megan!!!:-)). So there she was, my beautiful piling up, first surf-wave of my whole life! Now it counts, will I suck, or will I make it?! I made it!!! First atempt and I stood on my surfboard for about 4 seconds! Life could end now... but there are some other ones to be catched i thought! And they have been there. But you gotta wait and wait and wait.... and if you finally got one, the "coool" surfer dude beside you catches it first, fuck! But I caught some real good ones, especially my last one. Me and the guy from Wisconsin beside me catched it at the same time, so no one had the first-served-right and we both went in it...and both had a sweet ride, watching each other, smiling and diving back to the water again. My first day of surfing - hell yeah!

So we went back to the hostel, showering for a bit, catching something to eat and straight after that I went down to the beach again! It's such a beautiful one - huge, clean and grinded sand as hell. After the last shafts of sunlight have left me, I went back to hostel again and cooked pasta with tomato-sauce! And here I am, writing to you! Later I might go to the Santa Monica Pier and check it out, looks perfect on pictures!

I'll let you know about my eve tomorrow...sleep tight and snore as hell Germany!!!

P.S. What a ride again!

"Shut the f*** up you f**** son of a b**** or I come down and rape the sh*** out of you!!!"
WHAT THE HELL?!?! You might think I'm on drugs...haha...yeah, that's the same thing I thought when I woke up in the middle of the night, seeing one of my roomates running out to the balcony and almost starting a big fight with a drunken idiot down at the street. So that's LA I thought?! Pretty entertaining! And fell asleep for the rest of the night again.

The next morning was a lot better than the (a bit too emotional) eve before. I stood up at 6am, caused of my jetlag, and went down to the famous Venice Beach, which is not even 2 minutes away from my hostel. And WOW!!! What the hell? I thought, how can everything really be like in the movies? Surfers everywhere trying to catch some 6-Feet-Waves, over 50 Joga-Nerds and the yellow beachguard jeeps cruisin up and down the beach. Amazing!
I did a huge beach-walk for over 2 hours, listening to one of my favourite The Ataris records, like i've always dreamed of. So I finally made it i thought, "Boys of Summer", walking down Venice Beach, that's the shit!!!

Another thing which amazes me of the states, are their cars.
Man how can almost everyone drive a car which is over 30 000 bucks?! Streets full of SUVs, Camaros and P
orsches! Check this one out here, what a great version of my loved Chrysler C300! I'm somehow in L.O.V.E!

After this great great morning-moments I went back to my hostel and started skyping with Germany! It felt good to see my buddies again and hear that weather back home sucks as hell;-) After 5 hours of Skype, and some Photoshop-hours I finally ran this blog here.

When I went up to my room to pick up a few things I ran into my new roommate, who's actually from Weiler/Simmerberg(which is about 40km from my hometown), how small is this world again?:-) We talked a bit and he seems to be a nice one and we're dating for my first surf in life tomorrow! Great! I also met a guy from Holland which also seems to be a good one. I went with him to the boulevard beside the beach and ambled along all the bars, shops and crazy people.
After another sandwich at Subways over the street and some final calls to Germany I went to bed again and I should sleep tighter than the night before, no Fights, just sweet californian dreams.

Tomorrow: My first surf attempts - I'm excited as a kid

So, first of all I say HY to all my followers!
I'll try to update this blog as often as possible, in best case, daily.

The first day of my big trip...where should I start?
In Stuttgart?! Exactly!
My parents have been so nice to drive with me to Stuttgart's beautiful airport, so we drove with our great BMW (which isn't so great as we recognized on the trip...but who cares? (z.D. "Wer kehrt?!")) I left my mum and dad at 6am and walked towards a brand new experience.

You mean LA?
No, first of all - flying. If you believe it or not, even if I'm nearly grey-bearded guy i've never flown before in my life. But as it should turn out, it's no big deal!
I flew from Stuttgart to London, changed planes and hitted the air to LA.

I've not expected it to be that comfortable and uncomplicated. I gotta give a big THUMBS UP to British Airways. Friendly as hell - great food - all kind of drinks and a pretty good entertainment system! (Maybe every airline has it and only my experience in flight doesn't suffice...BUT I'm happy with BA!)

To mention what made my flight even more exciting is the reason that i've got sick just one night before i left home! Perfect timing, a good flu with feever...what more do you need before a 20-hour-trip....

So when I finally arrived to LAX, i tried to call my colleague by a coin phone. It should point out that I'm not able to use one:-) So I asked this guy sitting beside me: Messed up hair, keen face, a Macbook in his womb and a baggage car full of surf- and snowboards. After a short talk, while he told me that he just came back from a trip to Australia, New Zealand and the Fidjis he borrowed me his mobile and i finally reached Markus who picked me up a few minutes after later.

We drove to my new work and i had the possibility to say hy to my new colleagues Jochen and Holger. After this short but sweet welcome we left and went to the hostel I booked. And it was the right decision to book that one! 2 minutes to Venice Beach and about 15 min to my work, how great is that! But at this time i couldn't enjoy my decision that much, cause everything finally catched up with me: the huge flight, my sickness, feever, the fucking bad antibiotics that i gotta take and the thought to be somewhere i know nothing and nobody....so what better can you do than go sleeping? And so i did! 7pm and a fell asleep like a baby!

See ya tomorrow, gotta go to sleep right now!
Bye bye
